Industry 4.0

Large beacon infrastructures will be ubiquitous in the coming years and close the gap between the offline and online world. Location-based services will also be indispensable in the so-called Industry 4.0. The aim is to link industrial production with modern information and communication technology. In addition to big data, artificial intelligence and cloud computing, technological drivers include location-based services and in particular sensor technology (e.g. beacons and RFID sensors) for capturing large volumes of data and analyzing them in a targeted manner.

Kaeser Compressors SE implements this principle to optimise maintenance intervals. Real-time monitoring of the sensors in compressed air compressors and the recognition of patterns that indicate an imminent failure can significantly improve service for the customer. The data is evaluated with predictive maintenance, among other things, in order to trigger corresponding service orders in good time.
